The conference “The Transfiguration” was held on April 19, 2023 in the Rectorate of the University St. Kliment Ohridski in Sofia. It was triggered by Markus Kleinert’s book Andere Klarheit. Versuch über die Verklärung in Kunst, Religion und Philosophie (Göttingen 2021), which traced in detail the recapitulation and interpretation of the Transfiguration of Christ in Western European culture. Subsequent conversations and discussions between Bulgarian scholars and the author revealed serious differences between the interpretation of this evangelical event in the cultures of Western and Eastern European traditions. The forum was dedicated to the professional deepening of this dialogue. The conference was organized by Georgi Kapriev (Chair of History of Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy, St. Kliment Ohridski University) and the Centre for Advanced Study (CAS) – Sofia. The speakers were Markus Kleinert, Vladimir Gradev, Smilen Markov, Georgi Kapriev and Nikolay Petkov. The participants dedicated the conference to the memory of Assoc. Prof. Vladimir Theoharov, DSc, who was involved in the organization of the conference until his last days and had prepared a paper for participation in the conference.

Конференцията „Преображението / The Transfiguration/ die Verklärung“ се проведе на 19 април 2023 г. в Ректората на СУ „Св. Климент Охридски“. Тя бе провокирана от книгата на Маркус Клайнерт Andere Klarheit. Versuch über die Verklärung in Kunst, Religion und Philosophie (Göttingen 2021), която детайлно проследява реципирането и интерпретирането на Преображението Христово в западно-европейската култура. В последвали разговори и дискусии на български учени с автора се очертаха сериозните различия между тълкуването на това евангелско събитие в културите на западната и източната европейски традиции. Форумът бе посветен на специализираното задълбочаване на този диалог. Конференцията беше организирана от Георги Каприев (катедра „История на философията“, ФФ на СУ) и Центърът за академични изследвания (CAS) – София. Лекторите в нея бяха: Маркус Клайнерт, Владимир Градев, Смилен Марков, Георги Каприев и Николай Петков. Участниците посветиха конференцията на светлата памет на доц. дфн Владимир Теохаров, който до последните си дни бе обвързан с организирането ѝ и бе подготвил доклад за участие в нея.
